Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it provides quality education as it is convenient for me to attend.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? To support the college located in the town for which I grew up in, and that I love means a lot! #RoadrunnerNation

Where do you work now? Whitfield County Schools at the best school ever, Dug Gap Elementary! #BravoBandit

What were some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I feel accomplished just by making it this far with a high GPA (3.75) being married, with children, a full-time college student and a full-time employee. I am the first to graduate in my family. I feel accomplished as this has been an unattainable dream for the low socioeconomic English Language Learner.

What were some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? I don’t care what activities I do in or around Dalton if they are with my supporting husband, beautiful daughter and adventurous son, all events in Dalton become my favorite. I love my D-Town and its people!

Where was your favorite study spot? Roberts Library – Study Rooms

What was your best memory as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Spending time with my friends at the homecoming dance in February 2020.

Favorite comfort food? Tacos

What do you feel most proud of? My children, Arlette and Andy, words can’t describe the feeling of being your mommy. As always, I am your biggest fan.

If you won the lottery, what would you do? Invest in finding a cure for cancer or other real-life treating illnesses that reach children.

What cheers you up? Party music

Who is your hero? God

Who would play you in the movie version of your life? Jennifer Lopez (JLo); even though I look nothing like her, please give her the role.

What is your favorite childhood memory? My elementary field days were always a blast and unforgettable until this day.

If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? Eleanor Roosevelt

Where is your favorite place to eat? I love The Cheesecake Factory; however, I also enjoy delicious authentic taco stands.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? A teacher  

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? To believe that dreams do come true and that you must never give up making them happen despite the challenging obstacles!
